Its official! The IRS has announced that tax season will begin on-time and, despite the tax extenders delay, tax preparers will be able to electronically file returns beginning January 20. I must say, I am impressed that the IRS, which is not known for its agility, does not need to push back the start of tax season. I was anticipating a delay of a few days, or even a week, but the IRS is ready and it is a pleasant surprise.

I advise everyone to submit their 2014 tax documentation to their CPA or tax preparer as soon as possible. Since this will be a grueling tax season for most preparers, they will thank you for being proactive and your return will be completed before the real rush sets in during late March and early April.
